Rhythm-guitar ace Mike is joined by Jennifer Jordan vocals, Tom Bender, trumpet, and Doug Clarke, lead guitar, in a tribute to Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong, Django Reinhardt and other jazz masters of the 1920s and '30s. This wil be our 11th appearance at Reckless Steamy Nights since first playing this venue in 2006. Snacks/Drinks will be provided. BYOB.

If you've enjoyed our twice-annual shows for the last five years at the Woman's Club of Red Bank under the banner of Reckless Steamy Nights, you'll love this festival debut!
What a way to spend a summer Sunday! First, dig the classic prewar jazz and blues of the dynamic trio of Jennifer Jordan, vocals, Mike Barris, guitar, and Tom Bender, trumpet, at this cozy West End pub from 3 to 6 p.m. Those of you who love the way Jennifer tears it up at the Woman's Club, our regular haunt for the past five years, will gape in awe as she turns the Draft House on its head (get it - draft house - head?). Then, after our show, head on over to the Long Branch Jazz & Blues Beach Series at nearby West End Park, beginning at 7 p.m.
Mike serves up a dynamic blend of classic jazz and blues, from tasty instrumentals like "I've Got Rhythm" and "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" to gut-sore blues ballads like "St. Louis Blues" and "Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out," to accompany some of the most delicious cuisine anywhere!
